This Ventnor pattern, one of Wedgewood's most brilliant and richly detailed, is done in bright reds and greens, with blue, purple, yellow and golden brown on an ivory background. Its raised pattern (mostly in the red and powder blue) adds visual dimension. The rim is delineated on the inside by a golden brown pattern which is repeated on the edge just inside a final green band. T is no noticeable wear other than some silverware marks on the plates. T are no chips, cracks, or crazing. This is an auction for (1) 9-piece setting of the fabulous Wedgewood Ventnor pattern which consists of the following: Dinner plate- 10 5/8" Salad plate- 8" Bread & butter plate- 5 7/8" Cream soup- 4 ½" rim edge to edge on bowl, 2 3/8" high Liner plate- 6 ¼" Tea cup- 4 1/8" rim edge to edge, 2 1/8" high Liner plate- 5 ¾" Demitasse- 2 ¼" rim edge to edge, 2 1/8" high Liner plate- 4 ¾" I bought a 14- place setting of this wonderful pattern at a collector's estate sale 25years ago and because of its brilliant colors I have used it as my holiday dinnerware ever since, but have never used the last 4 settings. Tfore I am putting up for sale (1) 9- piece setting with the understanding that the winner has the option of purchasing up to (3) more at the "buy it now" price per setting. I was told that this collection was added to setting by setting over many years, so some pieces have slightly different markings. They all say, "Wedgewood Bone China Made in England ". In addition the plates say, "Ventnor USA Patent June 22, 1926 ". As of this listing, "" has additional pieces in the ivory Wedgewood Ventnor pattern.
