WEDGWOOD LEAD CRYSTAL GLASS VASE/ BOWL BRUTUS VASE/ BOWL - design number FJT6 Designed by FRANK THROWER and produced from 1982 Size: Height 5.5 cms, Width 9.5 cms Marked WEDGWOOD to the base. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, flakes or repairs. It is argued that Frank Thrower was the most succesful British glass designer and his work has stood the test of time. His glass displays just as well now as it did when it was first produced. During his twenty years with Dartington, Thrower designed over 500 pieces and most of his items were classified with an FT followed by a number. Later, he designed for the Wedgwood/ Dartington combined company. Many designs were given a name and some of these were a little tongue-in-cheek and humorous. Some of these designs owe their inspiration to the Scandinavian glass companies and also to Ronald Stennett-Willson.
