A pair of lovely colourful plates from Wedgwood & Co (not to be confused with Josiah Wedgwood). Wedgwood & Co operated in Tunstall, Staffs between 1860 and 1965. These particular plates can be dated by their mark to circa 1906. They have a lovely, bright mottled green rim (one is very slightly lighter than the other). Both have gilt rims which are in very good condition with just a little wear, considering the plates are over 100 years this is very minor. The scene on each plate is of pheasants in the countryside which are good quality and good colour. The blue feathers on the crest, body and tail of both pheasants on one of the plates is a grey colour on the other plate. There is also a couple of scratches on the grey plate which I have tried to highlight in my photos. The plate with blue feathers is in very good condition. The plates measure 21cm in diameter and are an octagonal shape. They are a very attractive pair of decorative plates. On the reverse is Imperial Porcelain , a crown, Wedgwood & Co Ltd, England printed in green. There is also an impressed mark that says Wedgwood Ltd, Tunstall and also an impressed mark on blue feather 8/24 and on grey feather of 7/24. There are small plate hanging marks on the reverse of each plate.I will post each plate separately as Royal Mail 2nd class small parcel to UK destinations. I am happy read more
