A THING OF BEAUTY IS A JOY FOREVER!

For auction is a beautiful vintage Wedgwood jasperware PALE BLUE two-piece tobacco jar liberally adorned with crisp WHITE raised relief.

The jar features a beautiful domed lid with a round finial and a proportionately sized base.

The domed lid is adorned with six plumes of leaves interspersed with six spikes with leafy plumes at their tops. The base of the lid is surrounded with a wreath of leaves and acorns. All of the aforesaid adornment on the lid is executed in highly detailed and intricate raised white relief.

The base of the jar is adorned with two scenes taken from the mythological series known as "Sacrifice Figures". It is also adorned with foliage, small flowers and two large leafy trees. All of the aforesaid adornment on the base of the jar is executed in highly detailed and intricate raised white relief.

The words "Wedgwood" and "Made in England" are impressed on the bottom of the base of the jar together with the number "60" which indicates that the item was produced in 1960, thus making this a truly VINTAGE piece of Wedgwood jasperware. Also impressed thereon are the letters "FR" and "K".
