I am a retired antiques dealer who is slowly disposing of his stock through Ebay. This is a rare example of a Wedgwood Jasperware Salt from the early 1800's. The blue ground carries four allegorical scenes of applied white. The base of the piece has the impressed Wedgwood mark for the period, but the first 'W' is missing. It also has an incised 'J' as the potter's mark. The piece which is 7cm in diameter, has a metaled rim and handle. P 452
