VINTAGE ** WEDGWOOD **~ Blue Jasperware Cameo ~ STERLING SILVER RING ~ NO RESERVE ~ ITEM: Vintage Wedgwood Blue Jasperware Cameo & Sterling Silver Ring SIZE: Ring is an approximate size 7 ~ Band is 1/8" in width at back (band divides on either side of the front cameo -- see pictures) ~ Front, focal (Cameo) area measures: 3/4" in height; 1/2" in width ~ Total weight is light at approximately 2.2 Grams. ITEM DETAILS: This auction features a vintage, Wedgwood Jasperware cameo ring. I've tried for some time to figure out what the image is in the middle, and have finally decided that it is an angel -- possibly leaning on some type of pitch-fork (some type of reference to an angel / devil??). The background is light blue with white applied for the actual image. The back of the cameo portion is marked with, "WEDGWOOD, MADE IN ENGLAND." The band is silver and, as the inside marking would suggest, sterling. It is marked on the inside, back of the band with an unusual maker's mark and "SS" (I believe this marking is what refers to sterling silver). It is a very pretty little ring. CONDITION: Fair to Fair Plus - I am considering the age and use of this item when factoring the condition. As this ring is older, I would say it rates in Fair to Fair Plus condition. I did check the cameo portion with my loupe and -- aside from some very minor soiling and dust -- do not see any major issues with it. T are some surface scratches, which seems most noticeable on the exterior of the band. I do not see any major damage to this piece, such as dents, bends, or issues with the cameo. With age and use considered, I would still say it rates in Fair to Fair Plus condition overall.
