This Wedgwood black jasper medallion portrait if Winston Churchill is a classic collectors item, produced in 1974 from the famous Machin portrait, and adorns a lovely amber-tinted glass mug with hand-pulled handle and smoothly finished pontil. This mug was produced to commemorate the centenary of Churchill’s birth, 1874-1974, and was released in a limited edition. The portrait is white on black jasper, or jasperware, easily the most famous of Josiah Wedgwood's inventions. There are no marks or flaws on this piece; it is like new and has never been used. Measurements are 3 ¾ in. high by 5 ½ in. wide to outer tip of handle, just under 4 in. diameter. A substantial and weighty piece, it looks lovely on display. “Wedgwood England” clearly etched on reverse. ~~~~~~~~~ Thank you for looking. For anyone with allergies, please note this item comes from a smoke-free environment. ~~~~~~~~~ Please see my other items and be sure to add me to your favorites list .
