Weird CDV: actor JOHN CLARKE dressed as QUASIMODO A weird and wonderful carte-de-visite portrait of actor John Clarke dressed as Quasimodo in Esmeralda, or the Sensation Goat , a burlesque by H. J. Byron which opened at the Royal Strand Theatre on 28 September 1861. Photographer unidentified. Condition: please see scans. The mount shows a few small black marks in the area of the background and some creases at its upper right-hand corner. The mount has discoloured a little with age but is otherwise clean and firm. Dimensions: The dimensions of a standard carte-de-visite are approx. 4.1âe by 2.5âe (105 mm by 63 mm). Be sure to check out all my other auctions on eBay this week!
