Offered for auction sale is a wonderfully styled, decorated, glazed, and molded, Cabinet Vase , with standard glaze blended background and hand slip painted floral decoration, made in Zanesville Ohio by Weller or Roseville Pottery in the early 1900's. This small jardiniere-shaped vase has an attractive high gloss background glaze of dark brown blending to a rust-brown color, with a hand painted slip decorated poppy flower blossom with long green stem. It has a bulbous body and rolled top rim. The dark background colors, along with its red-orange floral decoration give this vase a distinct Victorian Era style appearance. This vase is 3 1/2" tall, and 4 1/4" across at its bulbous widest. The yellowish clay underside seems to show a tiny bit of a few die-incised letters, either from "WELLER" or possibly "ROZANE". This is shown in the last photo below. This vase is mostly in very fine condition, but t is a thin tight hairline on one side down from the rim, shown in the 5th photo below. The rear side, shown in the 2nd photo, has 2 kiln indentations that have been glazed over. The inside is very clean. All photos of this piece were difficult due to the very high gloss glaze. Any white or bright spots are reflective glare.SEE ALL PHOTOS AND ENLARGEMENTS BELOW. This wonderful Weller or Roseville Rozane Cabinet Vase would make a very fine addition to a vintage Weller, Roseville, American Art Pottery, or Victorian era collection and decor.
