This is a large, spouted handled "Bowl or pitcher . If you made 3 or 4 maybe 5 packages of instant pudding up. it would fit, then use the spout to pour into cups. I have NO IDEA what a "bowl" of this size, handled and spouted would be used for, but my discription of the "pudding" gives you an idea of the size, etc. SIGNED "R" on bottom in black ink, under glaze is the mark of Weller potter RUTH AXLINE who was t at Weller from 1929-39 _ period--basically the Big Depression/Stock Market Crash Era._____ SO YOU NOW KNOW THE DATE RANGE OF THIS BLACK RELATED WORK_ SIGNATURE "R" WILL BE SEEN IN PICTURE #5.___________________ I used graphite to bring up the under-glaze mark , you can see WELLER POTTERY SINCE 18--. That is all I can read.The surface of the bowl, which I have not cleaned yet and will clean beautifully, is off-white with blue "texture" lines in the indents vertical ly going around the bowl. Some are more worn as to those color lines, or missing some color. Finish glaze is matte-satin and feels very nice to the touch!! This bowl is in very good, used condition. PLEASE----- SEE ALL 5 PHOTOGRAPHS ! I should have cleaned it first, It is immaculate, no cracks. That is just a little "luster" from the sun at black ladies neck--not a flaw of any kind..
