Offered for auction sale is a wonderfully designed, molded, and hand-colored, Warwick pattern , heavy Twig Handled Centerpiece Bowl , made in Ohio by Weller Pottery in the 1920's-1930's . Each side features a wood-like textured background, with a high relief molded pattern of black branches, red berries, and green foliage. The black branches extend to form the bottom rim, as well as open side handles. The tops of these side handles are molded into a textured and knotty relief pattern. The entire piece has a soft satiny glaze. The sides of the interior are a mottled rust brown with a sponge-like effect. This Centerpiece or Planter Bowl is 9" wide across at its handles, and 7 1/4" from front to back. It stands 3 1/2" high, and 4 3/8" tall at its handle tops. It weighs over 2 1/2 lbs. It is in clean and excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. Underglaze crazing is faintly present only on a bit of its white glazed underside. The underside shows the 3 kiln stilt marks, and is marked with the "WELLER POTTERY" blue stamp half kiln mark. SEE ALL PHOTOS AND ENLARGEMENTS BELOW.
