Smith) The front features a beautifully hand detailed portrait of the pilgrims landing at Plymouth, Mass. It is captioned: LANDING OF THE PILGRIMS on the bottom. Diameter: 8 3/4" Weight: 15.85 troy ounces / 493 gramsCondition: Excellent This is a very rare Wendell August Forge collectable, only 500 of these were ever made in sterling silver. The rim has a floral wreath running to the top with a "shining star" throwing rays below - it is marked with the year it was made:1972 The Wendell August Forge logo is clearly shown on the obverse side, as well as: HAND MADE STERLING SILVER 1972 REG. NO. 53 This design was used in their regular production of aluminum & brass, but this sterling Limited Edition was made especially for L.E. Smith of Mount Pleasant, PA The original certificate is to be included in the sale & contains the following information: LANDING OF THE PILGRIMS You are the owner of a very special limited edition in sterling silver. This commemorative plate is not a reproduction, but a hand-made original created for us by the famous Wendell August Forge. This edition is limited to only 500 pieces; and each plate bears its own registration number.
