Wonderful Handcrafted Wendell August Forge "Kitten in a basket" Lidded Treasure Dish. This handcrafted Aluminum Lidded Treasure Dish measures 2 1/4 inches tall and is 3 1/2 inches in diameter. The handcarved lid shows a cute Kitten sleeping under a quilted blanket in a wicker basket. This dish comes in its original manufacturer's box and has never been used since its purchase. The underside of the dishes lid and the bottom of the dish have the engraved Wendell August logo indicating that the dish was handmade in either Grove City PA or Berlin Ohio.

The Wendell August Forge Company of Grove City PA established in 1923 has been carrying on the tradition of handcrafted metalworking known as repousse. Wendell August uses skilled artisans and craftsman to produce heirloom quality items such as this quality and highly detailed "Kitten in a Basket" lidded dish. This cute cat dish is no longer made and is a unique example of true American Craftsmanship.
