You have beenoffered this very RARE Tom Clark piece called the West Virginia Montaineer , created in 1983. Mr. “ West VA Mountaineer” has been signed by Tom Clark himself on one of his visits to Connecticut (see photo) . The Mountaineer is a fairly large piece compared to other Tom Clark collectibles. This fellow stands majestically 11-3/4” tall, the diameter of the base is 5-1/2” and he weighs in at 2-1/2 lbs. What a handsome rugged mountaineer! He is in EXCELLENT, “like new” condition and has been handled with special care all these years. He has a “COA” (Certificate of Authenticy) from Cairn Studio, Ltd. which will accompany him and some of the items on this are: Edition #: 42; Creation date: 5/20/83 , Number in offering: 2,652 and the certificate #: 694153. He was "retired" 3/31/1987. Here is the description by Cairn Studios (Tom Clark) about this very RARE piece: “ West Virginia University has a Mountaineer as their mascot. Working from the official drawing of the figure, I made a three-dimensional statue. He is posed at the top of a mountain surveying the terrain as the strong mountain wind blows his hair and the tassels on his leather shirt. The musket is a vintage one and is held in preparation for adventure”. Although I pack extremely well and have never had an unfortunate incident shipping on eBay, I strongly urge you
