WESTERN - CAMILLUS GUT HOOK KNIFE AS ONE OF AMERICA'S OLDEST AND LARGEST KNIFE MANUFACTURERS , CAMILLUS CUTLERY HAS ANSWERED THE CALL FOR QUALITY KNIVES SINCE 1876. A VERY SAD DAY FOR THE KNIFE INDUSTRY.... During 2006, the company was the subject of a months long strike by employees due to the company's proposed contract which included, among other things, steep wage cuts and reduced vacation allowances. The company stated that the reductions were necessary to face stiff overseas competition. Although the striking workers ultimately accepted the original contract offer in November of 2006, the company only retained a small number of the original employees and laid off the rest. The company subsequently filed for bankruptcy and closed its doors on February 28th, 2007 I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE ACQUIRED AN EXTREMELY LARGE ASSORTMENT OF KNIVES AND SHEATHS OF WHICH I WILL BE AUCTIONING OFF AT EBAY. In the late 1980s, Camillus Cutlery expanded its scope as well as its presence in the international cutlery market by purchasing Western Cutlery , a hunting-knife manufacturing company in Boulder, Colo. FOR AUCTION IS A WONDERFULLY MADE GUT HOOK BLADE HUNTING KNIFE AND SHEATH. Laminated rosewood handles. Stainless blades. Full tang construction. Brass rivets. Brown leather belt sheath .
