This auction is for a show piece done by SBR Etchings of Hope, Arkansas and is a featured piece in their catalog. It is a limited edition of only 10 knives...plus the engravers proof. We are now accepting orders for the edition. The proof knife will be a one of a kind piece since Western is no longer in business. The remaining 10 knives will be on the same style knife but made by Bear and Sons Cutlery of Jacksonville, Al., who bought the tooling for the W 49 Bowie when Western closed...so , this piece will be the only Western made knife.The knife depicts Souix war chiefs standing and on horseback in 24 kt gold on a satin finish blade background. The art on this knife was done by the artists at SBR Etchings to demonstrate the quaility of their work. This knife is simply one of many formats on which the artwork can be done. SBR can do this type of work on any knife, gun , wood, metal or material desired. SBR Etchings does custom etching for any type of special presentation or award piece that you may need. We also gold plate, silver plate, nickle plate and do high luster bluing. A combination of selective bluing with either gold or nickle makes a beautifull contrast adding richness and depth to the scene , bringing it to life. Since 1989 we are proud of our quality craftsmanship. SBR has done projects for many organizations such as the NRA. , Winchester, Hartford, Ducks Unlimited, Mac Tools and many more.
