This week's offering is a Western Electric desk stand, or "candlestick," telephone complete with original wooden subset (ringer box). Best estimates date this phone from the nineteen-teens. It is of brass construction and features a nickel-plated transmitter face. As can be seen, some restoration in the form of polishing/cleaning would be in order, if the new owner prefers; however, the metal is sound without pitting or dents. The receiver is very fine with clear logo. The mouthpiece is very sound without pits or chips. I am unsure of the model number of the subset, but have photographed the schematic for those in the know. There are three frayed spots on the receiver cord. The cloth cord connecting the phone to the subset is new. As this phone was only used for display purposes, I cannot attest to functionality, but the phone is complete, save for a line cord, and it is likely that the addition of the latter would render this a functional set. I have placed a very modest reserve on this phone, owing to its rarity and relative scarcity. As always, thank you for looking and for your bid(s)! I always refund any overages on shipping where applicable.
