WESTERN, MODEL 628, BIRD AND TROUT KNIFE, EXCELLENT CONDITION. This is Western's smallest sheath knife and becoming one of Western's most popular knives. This example has an "A" stamp whch means that it was produced during Western's first year in Longmont, Colorado, in 1977. The blade is shiny and free from pitting or scratches. The stamping is very deep, and reads: Western USA, 628 "A". The sheath is excellent, with all stitches intact, and deeply embossed Western oak leaf design. The leather is soft and free from gouges and stains. This is an excellent knife with brass guard and aluminum pommel. the synthetic, jigged handle material is shiny and smooth. This knife would look great in any collection or for use as designed. These are becoming very rare in any condition. This one has been cleaned at some point, and is in oustanding condition. Don't let this one get away. They are getting very rare.
