This call box was used to summon a Western Union messenger to pick up a telegram for transmission. Each box transmitted an unique code to the telegraph office. The knob on this still partially works returning almost all the way once twisted. The case is metal and base is porcelain. The case is chipped. This is an early version ADT call box. Western Union owned the ADT call box system at the time this box was in use. This was used by Western Union in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
