Westmoreland Blue Milk Glass

Fox on Lacy Base Nest

This week we are listing an amazing assortment of large covered animal dishes from Westmoreland's animal kingdom in the hard to find Antique Blue color. Several of these animals rest on Westmoreland's desirable 8" oval lacy base. We are offering them all with no reserve.

According to Kovar, Antique Blue is a robin's egg blue opaque color, which was produced by Westmoreland Glass Company as early as 1950. Today it is hard to find in any form, especially in the large animal covered dishes. If you have been waiting to add that special dish to your collection of blue milk glass, now is the time!

One of the more elusive large covered animal dishes Westmoreland produced is the reclining, sly fox on lacy base with original brown inset glass eyes.

This piece is marked both on the underside of the lid and the inside of the lacy base with Westmoreland's superimposed "WG". Measuring 7-7/8" long and 6-3/8" wide this piece stands 6 3/8" tall with lid in place. With stunning mold detail and no chips, cracks or repairs, this is an outstanding and hard to find example of Westmoreland's blue milk glass.

Please e-mail us with any questions you might have prior to placing your bid. For immediate shipping we accept PayPal, money order or cashier's check. Personal checks will be held 5 days. Because of the size, weight and delicate nature of these lacy bases, we will be unable to combine shipping this week on multiple purchases of the lacy-based animals.

Winning bidder to please add $10.95 for safe shipping via U.S. Priority Mail to USA destinations only. Insurance is optional and your preference can be chosen at check out. We will not be responsible for any uninsured items.

Thanks for visiting & Happy Bidding!
