This auction is for one (1) absolutely beautiful WESTMORELAND GLASS CO. BLUE WREN/BIRD ON MILK GLASS BASE figurine! This great piece of early glass was acquired some time ago from an Maine estate sale. Uncommon in condition and color, both pieces of glass sculpture are in near mint condition -- not a chip, ding, scratch on her! Figurine is damage - free! The gorgeous blue glass wren passes light through window beautifully! Wonderfully designed base has central branch attached to it, w bird perches. Milk glass has fantastic movement to it, on sides as well as top. Base is recessed in and embossed with WG (overlapped) maker's mark. Manufactured in Grapeville, PA from about 1889 until 1984, Westmoreland Glass Company is known for its high-quality colored and opaque pressed glass. This particular logo dates the piece from about 1949 - 1984. Quality and color ensure this is an original WG piece, not just made by later companies from the original mold. Fantastic collector's piece for those just beginning, as well as for invested collectors! Own a little piece of glass history! Low starting price and no reserve make this a must-have acquisition! This tiny treasure measures approximately 3 1/2" h, 3" square base. Great for collectors of Westmoreland, early glass, bird/figural items, or interesting historical pieces in general! Please see pictures for details. Photos are with flash and without, so t may appear to be some color discrepancies that don't really exist. If t are any questions about pictures or information, requests must be made prior to auction's end. All items sold "as is/as described" and guaranteed to be original.
