This is an exciting... Westmoreland Glass Company marked... Rooster on a Nest. This "perky" country gentleman sets about 4 ¼ inches tall... 5 ½ inches long.... and 4 ¼ inches wide. Both the Rooster and the Nest appear to be in excellent condition. Both our Rooster... and his Nest... are in that elusive... and highly sought after... Cobalt Blue Carnival Glass. This dark body glass color is the absolutely best base on which to "show off" the rainbows of colors that exist in this exciting Carnival Glass finish. And to further compliment the "package"... the numerous nooks and crannies incorporated into the design... of both the Rooster and the Nest... gives us lots of "points"... for the light to reflect off of. This is the "split tail" type Rooster... which is much nicer and harder to come by than the "flat tail" style. It comes from a much more intricate "mold"... a bit harder to make... and always commands a better price. Our Rooster is marked on the inside center with the Westmoreland mark. This is the later mark... w the name is spelled out in a circle around a large "W"... and was used for the last few years prior to the company's closing in about 1983.
