Offered for your consideration, is a very nice Westmoreland, #1801 high footed sweetmeat or compote w/ball stem, manufactured mid 1920s. This compote measures 7 1/4" in height and has an 8" rim diameter. The compote is clear glass with the underside having a pink satin finish separated by a clear band. The top side of the clear band has handpainted enameled roses and triple forget-me-nots. The decorated band and the outside rim is trimmed in gold and between the floral decoration is gold cross-hatching. The top side of the foot and the stem also have a satin finish, separated by a transparent pink ball. This Westmoreland sweetmeat is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The rims are smooth to the touch, with no flaws. The top side of the compote is, free of scratches. The satin finish is also, free of scratches or stains. The handpainted enameled flowers are in very good condition. The gold trim has some wear on the outside rim and on the cross-hatching between the flowers, but still looks nice on display.
