WESTON TUBE TESTER MODEL 788 NAVY DEPARTMENT - BUREAU OF SHIPS MODEL OQ-3 SERIAL 870 Weston Electrical Instrument Corp. Newark, New Jersey U.S.A. 110 to 120 Volts 1 Phase 60 Cycles This tube tester has a built in roll chart that covers tubes up until about 1946 . The tester is a dynamic mutual conductance tester manufactured up to about 1939. The military ordered these testers for the WW2 effort. It has a patch panel like a telephone switchboard and each tube element has to be wired according to the base diagram of the tube. This method does make the tester universal and a tube can be tested just with clip leads to the pins. The exterior case is wood (some surface scratches in wood). The roll chart is functional. Includes original Instruction book and 12 connection cables. This tester is in nice overall condition and is a great example of American workmanship, as well as a precision instrument. This piece is complete, and you will probably never see another in this condition. The tester is shown in the photos with a 12SN7 testing at 95% emission. However, due the delicate nature of all electronics, this tester is sold AS IS. This item weighs 42 lbs. Actual shipping/handling costs will be based on your zip code.
