WHITE Industries DOS ENO Precision Freewheel 16-18 Tooth: 2 speeds ( Brand New in Box) The clean simple lines of a single speed bike are undeniably elegant, but there are times when one gear simply isn't enough. In keeping with the simplicity single speeders strive to maintain, we developed the DOS ENO freewheel. Two gears on one freewheel. The chain is manually moved from one position to the next which allows the rider flexibility when riding in a situation that demands an easier or harder gear. We offer the DOS in sizes 16/18 (blue lock ring) and 17/19 (red lock ring). Made in the USA. Thiks model has the Blue lockring. Freewheels have long been the Achilles' heel of the single speed industry. The problem has been twofold; 1) dirt gets inside and gums up the mechanism 2) the inexpensive freewheel unit is not precision enough and bearings are easily compromised. Both of these problems plague the consistent engagement of the typical or average inexpensive freewheel. Sometime it may engage at 15 degrees and sometime it may engage at 9 degrees. A true precision freewheel will engage at precisely 10 degrees consistently. Consistent engagement is necessary for proper training and conditioning and is MORE IMPORTANT than having more engagement points.
