White Ironstone Scalloped Decagon Covered Sauce Dish

Three-piece Scalloped Decagon white ironstone covered sauce with lid and cracker tray by John Wedge Wood. Both the cracker tray and the sauce are marked with the English registry diamond with the date of 1852. They also have black printed manufacturer’s mark: “J. WEDGWOOD PEARL IRONSTONE CHINA.” This was intended to deceive buyers into thinking it was Josiah Wedgwood. The piece is 8.5” tall, the cracker tray is 9.5” long and 7” wide and the bowl is 8.5” long and 4” wide. CONDITION : Fair to good: overall minor crazing, one small chip on the inside rim of the sauce, and a small pottery flaw or chip on the underside of the neck, and one handle has been broken off and glued back. The piece is displays well in spite of these faults. NOTE : I do not exaggerate the condition of the antique pieces I sell. If t are any flaws or damage, it is NOT rated Excellent, as some sellers will do.
