This beautiful covered vegetable tureen is in the Vintage Shape, made in the pottery of E. & C. Challinor and so marked. It dates to 1865. The shape involves vines of highly embossed grape clusters surrounding three oval convex medallions. Note also the crabstock handles and finial. It measures a large 12" long by 7" tall andis in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, stains, or repairs.
