JILLYFLOWERVINTIQUE is pleased to offer for auction this wonderful filigree floral decoration cigarette case.
The workmanship and design of this item is quite stunning and although it is quite clearly a cigarette case for a lady(I think),it has been used as a compact more recently by the smell!! I do not have a history of it and I would guess(as I am still learning) that it might be French and maybe about 100 years old. The metal is not hallmarked,but again,with my experience so far,I am fairly sure it is silver...cannot state for certain for legal selling reasons. The design is of a two headed flower and is very intricate. The case snaps shut crisply with a clasp which grips and works perfectly and the condition is extremely good apart from a very small amount of the filigree missing on the reverse which did not deter me.I think it is easily repairable for perfectionists. I collect a great deal of smoking memorabilia and this is one of the nicest I have seen for a while. It is 9 cm long and 7cm wide with a depth of 1.5cm.
