White Star Line - Demi-tasse Cup & Saucer 1912/1909 Titanic / Olympic

White Star Line - Demi-tasse Cup & Saucer 1912/1909
Now is the time to enhance your ocean-liner collection with this beautiful bone-china White Star Line demi-tasse cup and saucer. Just think of the craftsmanship in this set. Hand made china that was glazed, fired, had brown decals applied by hand, fired, gold leafed, hand-painted flag added, turquoise "tongues" applied (again by hand), then fired again! Making china like this today would cost a mint! No loss to the gold leaf. The saucer has a small chip on the inside of the rim but this does not detract from display.
1912 (Cup) & 1909 (Saucer) White Star Line First Class Wisteria Pattern Cup & Saucer. A beautiful example of this much loved china pattern as used on the RMS Titanic.
This elegant set is decorated in the turquoise "tongue and tendril" pattern, with the White Star company logo to the center and gold gilding to the edges. Known as the Wisteria pattern (from the Chinese climbing plant of the same name) although it is sometimes referred to as the "Brownfield" pattern.
This pattern of china was commissioned by White Star Line for use by first-class passengers on ships such as the Titanic and Olympic.
