This is a WW II vintage uniform with present day Commodore shoulderrank insignia. (Currently a one star admiral is referred to as Rear Admiral Lower Half, but in WW II, such an officer was referred to as Commodore.) I have added 22 ribbons to indicate a highly decorated WW II USN veteran. Some of the ribbons include the Navy Cross, Silver Star medal, Distinguished Service medal (Navy and Army awards of this medal--Some Naval Officers (e.g., Admiral William Halsey) who served under General MacArthur were awarded the Army Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit medal, Purple Heart Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Medal (the medal won by John F. Kennedy in the South Pacific on PT 109 during WW II), Yangtze Service medal as well as campaign ribbons for service in China, the Philippines and other campaigns during WW II, and the Korean War. The trousers are size 30 waist and 29 inseam. The material is Palm Beach cotton. They have a WW II vintage button fly and cuffs on the trousers. The tunic is marked size 36 and has a tag reading PANCRAFT Will Not Shrink. The trousers and tunic came from the same veteran, but I am not certain that they were purchased at the same time. The uniform is still in outstanding condition in spite of its 60 plus years. The USN Admiral's visor Hat is NOT included. The white visor hat in the photos is NOT included read more
