Whites of Utica Covered Butter Crock with Floral Ready to add to your growing collection of great stoneware is this wonderful Covered Butter Crock with Raised Floral by the Whites of Utica Pottery in New York. Made about 1900, this beauty features an Elaborate Background of Raised Triangles Sporting a Bouquet of Daisies on the Front Accented in Blue, a Flower with 20 Petals on the back, and a 6-Pointed Star on the Lid! Raised leaves run up each side. Comes with the original lid and bail handle. This is a very large butter crock for Whites, holding a full gallon and measuring 7 1/4" tall and 7 1/2" wide. Good Condition . The lid is mint. What look like 1/4" chips inside the rim are in the making and glazed over. The base has a couple of pinhead nibbles on the raised rim, two chips on the right side toward the back (3/16", 5/8"), and a 3 3/4" glaze crack on the back right (closeup). It is in the surface only and spiders to the right some (closeup). Does not go through. Some staining inside from use. No repairs.
