This is a veryElegant Antique, a 4 Piece Coffee & Tea Solid Sterling Silver Set. It is made by Whiting Manufacturing Co. who was in production between the years 1840-1926. In 1905, the company started using Date Code Marks. Because this set does not have the Date Code Marks and bears only an old Whiting Co Sterling mark, it indicates that it was produced before 1905. In 1926 Whiting Co. was purchased by the Gorham. Retailer for this beautiful antique set was J.E. Caldwell & CO. The set consists of: Coffee & Tea Pots with hinged lid on one end, Sugar Bowl with lid and Creamer Pitcher. Marked (each piece) : Whiting Logo Sterling 4959 925/1000 Fine J.E. Caldwell & CO Measurements are about: Coffee Pot: 8.5 in. (22cm) tall; 9.5 in (24.5 cm) from handle to spout; 2 ½ Pints Tea Pot: 6.5 in. (16.5 cm) tall: 9.5 in. (24.5 cm) from handle to spout; 2 Pints Sugar Bowl: 5.5 in. (14cm) with lid; 3.5 in. (9 cm) without lid; 7 ¾ in. (20 cm) wide from handle to handle; 1 ½ Pints Creamer Pitcher: 2 ¾ in. (7 cm) tall; 5 ¾ in. (15 cm) wide from handle to spout; ¾ Pint . Weight: All pieces together weights 3 lb 4.1 oz. or 1363.6 g. Condition: The set is clean both on the outside and inside.
