From my personal vintage jewelry collection: This is a fabulous, very decadent-looking bracelet and earring set in an Art Deco elaborate design. An earlier set, the bracelet is signed in an oval cartouche on the back of the clasp (and each earring on the clipback) by the wonderful vintage designer "Hobe". Pieces by this talented designer, who is one of my very favorites, are hard to come by and in great demand. This is one of the earlier sets, elaborate in style, and absolutely beautiful! I love this set, and hope it finds a wonderful new home. It is rare, and fairly difficult to run across. Large Hobe' mesh bracelets, are hard to find! This one is quite different, and quite beautiful, with its braided golden mesh band. It contains many sizes of faux pearls, and glistening red, clear (white) and blue rhinestones in shapes such as baguettes, marquis, rounds, and teardrops. The elaborate centerpiece is connected to either end by wide and still very shiny gold mesh, braided, serving as its band. The beautiful rhinestones are sprinkled over the centerpiece and spill over each side all the way to each gold-toned end/clasp. The glamorous climber earrings have the same sprinkling of stones & pearls. The set is absolutely magnificent! All rhinestones are faceted and prong-set -- signature touches of this and many other fine designers from this period. This is such a beautiful and rare set. T appears to be only minimal wear to the stones and to the metalwork, any of which would be consistent with the estimated age of the pieces. They really look marvelous for their age in terms of wear. T appear to be no stones missing, which is amazing in itself. Of the 3 faux pearls on the bracelet, t are small nicks on 2 of them. The pearls on the earrings are in great shape. On one of the earrings, 2 of the tiny clear rounds appear to be graying, which is an easy fix, if so desired. All remaining stones appear bright and clear. What little wear t is certainly does not detract from the beauty of this ornate set. T is so much sparkle and shimmer! The metalwork shows very little if any expected wear. However, it would be age-appropriate wear, which I believe to be the result of some previous owner's love and wearing it over the years, and is still quite shiny regardless. Measuring approx. 7 1/4 inches long and 2 1/8 inches wide at the centerpiece, the weighty and extremely well-made bracelet is a very wearable size and weight. T is a working safety chain, and quite secure clasp that appears nice and tight. The massive centerpiece is slightly arched, so as to conform beautifully to the shape of the wearer's wrist. The clip earrings measure approx. 1 3/4 inches long by 7/8 inch wide at their widest points. This is a fabulous old Art Deco set that I hate parting with! Although familiar to collectors, you don't see this design very often, and you will not be disappointed in it! ***Pictures always make the pieces less brilliant & colorful than they are in real life!****All sales final.
