Wide Rim Soup Bowl US Light House Service USLHS 1905

This is a auction for a Authentic and Very Rare Wide Rim Soup Bowl from the United States Light House Service (USLHS) made in 1905 by Haviland China in France. It was supplied by James M. Shaw & Co New York and is Pre Coast Guard. The Coast Guard was started by combining the Light House Service, U. S. Revenue Cutter Service, and the United States Life Saving Services. This pattern was a turquoise lighthouse with the words "UNITED STATES LIGHT HOUSE SERVICE" within a circle and a turquoise stripe. This is a china dinnerware item from the United States Lighthouse Service manufactured of heavy white institutional type china, in the early years of the 1900's for use at the light stations and in lightships wardrooms cafeteria's. From what I can find t were three patterns of china used by the Lighthouse Establishment and Service until 1938. Condition on a item like this is very important. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. T is some light utensil wear. It has seen very light usage. T is a very small area smaller than a pea that looks like a glaze skip in the bowl at 7 o'clock. This looks like a manufacturing flaw that was t when it was made. This area is not stained it is rough to the fingernail. If it were a glaze skip I would think it would have stained. It is really hard to see. The only way I found it was I felt it as I was inspecting the bowl. I have tried to get a picture of it. But just as it is hard to see I could not get a photo of it. I do not believe that this detracts from the bowl, We just want a accurate description for our customers. The graphics are in very good condition. It will display Very Well . It is about 9 3/16 inches across. Sorry about the glare in the photo.
