This is a lovely example from Austrian sculptor Rudolf Chocholka (1888-1958) who was known for his amazing animal sculptures. This is of a Young Foal figurine in Art Nouveau style made by Wiener Kunst Keramik, Austria. In the 1920s/30s he worked for a company in UK modeling large hunting groups in bronze and he started work with Wiener Kunst Keramik around 1940. Chocholka spent much of his time in the Schoenbrunn Zoo in Vienna to observe animals, sketch and photograph. This item is In lovely condition with no visible chips or cracks. Please see photographs. Measures: Height 4 ½” Width 3 ½” Depth 1 ¾”.
