Up for auction is a VINTAGE ORIGINAL 1871 Willcox & Gibbs Treadlesewing machine from a round the Civil war Era. This all complete and all original CAST IRON Willcox & Gibbs treadle sewing machine with the adjustable "STICHES TO AN INCH" gauge, that adjust from 12 to 27 stiches to an inch, and a chart stamped right in the plate so you know how many stiches to an inch for the difference materials ( Thread,Silk,needle and stiches). there are a number difference patent dates from June 2-57 up to July 4-71 Everthing moves easy , but could use a good cleaning and oiling. In good working condition, with no cracks or repairs that I can see, just a little dusty and dirt. Machine has paint lose and some surface rust. Comes with the originalWillcox & Gibbs brass round plate. Please ask all questions prior to bidding, as something that is insignificant to me may be significant to you.
