I have a number of hand carved wooden items that all come from the same place and the same time, so please have a look at my other listings (inbetween the toys) if you are interested in these type of objects. I am selling this for a friend of mine who was working in Papua New Guinea between 1970 - 1974 where he ran a boat for the Catholic Mission Stations. These are items given as a gift by local tribesmen living along the Sepik River. The wild boar tusk and teeth have been made into a necklace via intricately knotted string which has then been decorated along its length with what I think is shell. In addition there are another 5 bead/shell necklaces, which simply drop over your head - there is no gap in the strung beads. Two of these are approx 19" drop and three are approx 37". There are deffinately shells on one of the shorter necklaces but I cannot determine exactly what the other components are, wood, seeds or shell. The postage cost of £2.70 is for 1st class Royal Mail, I do not add any extras. Returns are accepted but please note that this is for the item cost only and do not include postage either way.
