ANTIQUE WILD & WESSEL HARVARD STUDENT BRASS ELECTRIC CONVERTED OIL LAMP Inventors of the Kosmos-burner, and major manufacturers of lamps, burners and glass parts in their own premises. The bottom if the lamp is stamped W & W 1373 THE FRONT IS MARKED: PATENT WILD & WESSEL BERLIN Harvard Student Lamp Wild&Wessel Co.This is a Harvard style student lamp made in Germany by the Wild & Wessel Co. The lamp is made primarily of solid cast brass. The casting is very ornate. The shade support is 7 1/2" and is made to accommodate the European shades; American shades are typically 7". The lamp has been electrified; the burner was removed when the conversion was done. A shade may be difficult to find..but my mother originally had a shade custom made for this lamp THIS LAMP IS IN GOOD-EXCELLENT CONDITION...IT NEEDS POLISHING, AND A SHADE..IT IS IN WORKING ELECTRIC CONDITION!!!!! T IS A PIN HOLE AROUND ONE OF THE FINIALS AND WHAT COULD BE WEARING AROUND THE EDGE, BUT IT COULD ALSO JUST BE THE WAY IT WAS MADE (SEE PICTURES) WEIGHT: 10.10 LBS. HEIGHT: 22 1/2 INCHES THE SHADE HOLDER DOES SLIDE DOWN TO COVER THE BULB Returns are NOT accepted for this item, unless it is was misrepresented in some way. I am not an expert, and can only go by what I see of other lamps of this kind. If return is accepted by me, only the price of the item is refunded, not the shipping and handling. It must be returned in the same condtion it was received. I suggest you insure this item, but that is up to you.
