Wildfowler decorative wood duck hen decoy. Eleven inches long. Initialed under bill with letters PL or PC. Identification on bottom with a wood burning stamp. Probably dates to the early 1980's. In perfect condition. Paint quality is high with texturing on the light brown main body. A wood duck drake, 12 inches long, was part of the pair that my mother displayed - t are no identifying marks on this bird. My mom signed it on the bottom (1984) so it is a possibility that it was a kit that she painted; painting quality is a step down from the quality on the hen. The drake appears to be made of pine while the hen is a harder wood. They make an attractive pair and to the casual observer (like myself) they could be a matched set.
