An attractive and unusual small planter, jardiniere or flower bowl by Wileman & Co, (predecessors of Shelley), The Foley, England, decorated art nouveau style with Irises and foliage and dating from the 1890's. It stands two and three quarter inches in height with a top rim diameter of three inches and carries the factory backstamp in the form of the crowned "W & Co, The Foley, Faience, England" one applicable to the period 1890-1910 with painted number 235. This antique bowl is in excellent condition with just a little fairly unobtrusive age related surface glaze rubbing at or adjacent to the rims and borders; certainly no chips, cracks, or hairlines nor any scratching, crazing, fading, discolouration, etc., and no restoration. There is no reserve and our start price is considered a reasonable one for such a desirable example of the factory's antique art pottery production. Buyers are re-assured that we are experienced packers with a proudly maintained reputation, well conversant with the requirements of sending out delicate items worldwide to enable safe arrival under normal conditions (as fully attested in our feedback).
