SHELLEY TRIO MINIATURE ~ MOCHA ASHBOURNE This auction is for a very small Shelley tea trio in the Ashbourne pattern (8524). Both the cup and saucer have a prefix of M in the pattern number. I believe indicates Mocha. This set is extremely small and may fit the criteria for a miniature sized set. The backstamp indicates manufacture sometime between 1912-1925. The cup, which is a coffee can shape, measures approximately 1 7/8 inches in diameter and is 2 inches tall. The saucer is approximately 4 1/4 inches across and is in a slightly concave shape (like a bowl). The plate, which doesn't have the M prefix , measures approximately 5 ¾ inches in diameter. All three pieces are in excellent used condition . T are no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. I have yet to find any crazing. T is very little, if any, wear to the gold trim.
