His original hero THE SPIRIT ran in Sunday morning newspapers all across America from 1940 to 1952 in his own 16 page comic book. The SPIRIT stories are 7 pages and contained 2 or 3 other features, usually Lady Luck, about a mysterious female crime fighter, and Mr. Mystic, about well some mystical dude, and a single page comic on the back, Jonesy. The SPIRIT will soon appear in a major motion picture directed by FRANK MILLER, being released over the Christmas holiday. This comic from the Philadelphia Record from December 22, 1940. This is the Christmas issue. This is in Good condition, t is some pencil writing along the top, and wear along the spine. Please understand that I am not a professional grader and that these comics are over 50 years old, un-stapled, and and printed on newspaper stock. I will be selling these and other SPIRITS, some are tanned and show some age but are generally in Good condition, unless otherwise noted. All will be in plastic bags but not all have been boarded. I believe they are all complete but I am not going to check them all. If you find one incomplete I will refund or replace it with another issue, if it is returned in a timely manner. Also selling a bunch of other comics including some WATCHMEN comics ahead of the release of that movie's release next Spring. I will combine shipping if you win multiple lots. Cannot guarantee shipping for Christmas unless payment is received by 12/07/08. Shipping will be $6, anyw in the US or $11 if you want to combine with other lots.
