Being offered is a fine circa 1845 coin silver covered porringer by William Forbes for Ball Black & Co. of New York, typical form, the keyhole handle, body and cover engraved and bright cut in a flourish of rococo swirls and swags, the cover with cast finial that features varied flowers. Weight 17 oz. Length over handle 7 3/4 inches. Engraved on body: Frederic Jesup Stinson from I.S.J., 20 July 1855.
