William Henry Harrison, 9th. president of the USA, only for a month. His vice president was James Tyler and who as a team were responsible for the 'Tippicanoe and Tyler, too" political theme. Tyler becam president when Harrison died suddenly one month after his ignaugeration. Harrison used a log cabin, his childhood home, as a theme for his election. Brass buttons were made depicting a log cabin and whiskey cask and were embossed in the brass. These are essentially regarded as the first USA political campaign buttons. Button is marked Scovil LS & Co. Waterbury and is c.1830. Button is in superb condition. No repairs and no bends. As found and UNDUG!! A piece of early American history you can hold and own.
