This William Penn silver commemorative spoon was purchased at a sale several years ago of the collection of Mr. & Mrs. Meyer Potamkin. The handle end of the spoon has a depiction of the William Penn statue atop City Hall in Philadelphia, which was sculpted by Alexander Milne Calder, and placed t in 1894.T is also a depiction of City Hall in the bowl of the spoon. It is marked "Sterling" and "J.E.Caldwell & Co." It measures 6" long. This spoon was one of several Wm. Penn commemorative items which I purchased from that collection, including some medals and which I just discovered in a box of packing material. The spoon is in excellent shape, with some tarnish, which I have not removed or polished, as are the other items from this group. I will be listing those as well, so please take a look at my other lisitings.
