William Spratling SALAD BOWL Vintage Wood STERLING

This is a vintage wood salad bowl with Sterling mounts made by William Spratling of Taxco Mexico. It measures 14.5" diameter and 3.5" tall. It is marked on the bottom with impressed and inked (or branded?) William Spratling logo mark. It is interesting that none of the 10 Sterling mounts has any mark on it, probably because they don't wrap around to the underside w a mark would be inconspicuous. This piece is vintage but the condition is excellent with no damage. The wood has the scratch marks that you see on a wood salad bowl (on the inside) but nothing serious, no gouges. The Sterling mounts are in excellent condition with no gaps w they meet the wood, no looseness, no dents, no scratches. I don't know what kind of wood it is but the grain is quite beautiful. No reserve. Purchase price refunded if not completely satisfied but item must be returned promptly. Payment must be received within 10 days of end of auction. Winning bidder pays USPS Priority Mail - INSURANCE Optional. |
