~~~ Aunt Doralee Presents ~~~
A vintage sterling silver pin by William Spratling, the Father of Mexican Silver! This is thrilling! I think this pretty bow form can act as a pin or a watch pin because of the hook that is on the back side.
Based on the hallmark, I would say this is about 1940. The pin measures 1 3/4" x 2 1/4", weighs 18 grams and closes with a roller clasp (and, of course, has the hook on the back for a watch or pendant). The pin is in really great condition for a 70+ year old pin and has a beautiful patina, not too shiny! The hallmarks are "WS Spratling Made in Mexico Spratling Silver". It always gives me the shivers to get a piece of jewelry by someone so famous!
