"Coffee Five Cents Per Cup: Poydras Market, New Orleans", Raffaelli crayon on board, signed and dated "05" lower left, pencil-titled "Poydras Market, N.O." and inscribed en verso, 16 in. x 20 in., in a period frame. Provenance: A Shenandoah Valley, Virginia Estate with family ties to New Orleans. In the painting "Coffee Five Cents Per Cup", William Woodward drew attention to the city's culinary tradition of coffee, as well as focused on the Poydras Market, one of the many New Orleans marketplaces of the early twentieth century.
