Williams Original Oil Portrait Old Master Renaissance Hollywood Regency Revival The 1st of 5 works, 4 signed and one unsigned, by Williams, an accomplished illustrator who apparently had distribution through upscale design houses on both coasts in the 1960s whose work regularly appears on eBay, often for many hundreds of dollars, that, together with an oil still life by listed California Impressionist Robert Cox, we personally removed from a Florida Gulf Coast waterfront mansion estate. We will be offering all 6 individually on our seller site today.WILLIAMS, L. (American, European or European American, active third quarter 20th century): Portrait of a Young Gentleman in Lace Collar in Italian, Spanish or Mediterranean Court Attire, oil on canvas laid down on panel or oil on panel, 16 x 12 inches (24 x 20 x 1.75 inches framed), signed L. Williams in red lower left. Carved and gilt painted frame. Condition: In very sound as discovered from the estate condition, compelling and painterly impastoed technique combines with powerful subject matter. Light even layer of slightly mellowed varnish and light even surface dirt commensurate with age. The inner linen liner is very badly browned, water stained and worn and will require replacement by the buyer prior to exhibition, frame has light scattered wear commensurate with age.Shipping:
