Custom "Wilson Made" Upswept Skinner style hand made hunting knife with Sambar Stag handle. The knife is in fine shape, with its original plain, functional riveted leather sheath. The blade is 3-1/2 inches and is made from 440C Stainless with a high gloss polish. It has a sweeping deep hollow grind that results in the horizontal Randall-style location of the makers mark on the right side only near the guard. It has a very comfortable grip and favors a thumb-forward hold. The single guard is German silver. One brass spacer in the Sambar Stag handle. T is one small non-structural shrinkage crack on the underside of the handle behind the brass spacer. The handle has a shield shaped retainer of brass or gold on the butt. Overall length 7-3/4". The blade has one tiny nick in the side of the edge on the left side, and t is some mild hazing to the blade polish. I am sure this would come out with some careful Semichrome work. This knife is from sometime before 1970 when it was presented to me, and it wasn't new then. I saw this Wilson made skinner and really liked it, so he gave it to me (some gift!). I have forgotten many of the details other than that the blade is 440C stainless, read more
